The World Diabetic Day is celebrated around the world to promote awareness of this life-threatening condition which affects babies through to the elderly. Many Monuments will be lit in blue on the 14^th – the actual celebration day to offer solidarity.

Lions all over Spain have been asked to help promote this very worthwhile event.

The Mijas La Cala Lions Diabetic Support Group will have a stand at the Miramar Shopping Mall – Fuengirola on Saturday 13^th November 2010 to celebrate the World Diabetic Day. They will also be assisted by nurses from Age Care.

This event is to make people conscious of the problem rapidly spreading at an alarming rate worldwide. For everyone diagnosed with diabetes there are the same number out there who are diabetic but are unaware of their plight.

If you are diabetic or know someone who is then come along to our stand. We may be able to help solve any problems that are worrying you. At the same time, if you think you may be diabetic then make every effort to attend for a glucose test and a chat to one of our qualified nurses.

We will also be showing at the 50+ Show in Estepona on the last weekend of November.

The Diabetic Support Group holds three meeting a month for those needing advice and an up-date on medical advancements.
