Tips for Diabetics on Medication
Check with your GP, on a regular basis, to ensure that you are getting the best medication available. Do not just continue to take the same medication month after month without querying the particular drug prescribed and the quantity recommended.
Demand that your GP checks your blood level regularly and should the medication you are taking fails to control your readings at a reasonable level, then ask about being put on insulin. It is also important if approaching your GP re Insulin that you have evidence that your control is not good and have this documented in a diary and evidence of rising HBAIC levels despite being on maximum oral therapy.
The Blood tests are done to monitor your Diabetic state, your kidneys, and your heart.
These tests are Urea and Electrolytes, Lipids including LDL’s and HDL’s and HDL ratio, also Liver function tests, and HBAIC.
This may be the way to go after several years of being a diabetic.
Watch your diet.
